XoftSpySE is a product created by Paretologic, who are very well respected when it comes to computer security software. XoftSpySE is a much more advanced and updated version of its sister product XoftSpy which was released some years ago.
Spyware Removal Ability: XoftSpySE currently boasts a very large database of over 260,000 spyware threats (you are told how many there are everytime you download an update). This comprehensive database explains why it detected so many threats on the PC that we ran, so it doesn't miss much! Our tests using XoftSpySE have proven that it turned a slow, infected machine with annoying pop-ups ads and so forth, back to its original state when we first purchased the PC! So we were delighted.
MY XOFTSPYSE REVIEW HERE
Ease of Use: Our XoftSpySE review found its interface to be very simple and easy to use so there's definitely no need to be a geek to work this one! What stood out most was it's logical menu interface and the lack of confusing buttons & menu's which many of these programs tend to have.
Customer Support: Our XoftSpySE review has support contact hours of 7.00am - 11.00 PST (Mon-Fri), and 8.30am 4.30pm (Sat-Sun) - this is all done via email and their support system. We were pretty impressed with their response time, which varied from 4 hours to 24 hours...which seems fair. They are currently working on a new live chat system which will improve things further....we look forward to seeing that.
Pro's & Con's:
+ Personally, a very effective tool to remove a huge range of spyware, adware & malware. Also, their database is updated very regularly enabling you to be protected from current threats. + There is a lot of information about detected threats so that the user can understand the problem, if required. + XoftSpySE has a great interface, making it very easy to use.
The scan took a bit longer than some others but I would personally prefer a thorough scan than a very brief one (some products literally only take 90 seconds but I can't see that being enough to scan an entire PC!).
Summary:
Paretologic in the past released a poor product, called XoftSpy (without the 'SE'). They have now completely changed the product and released XoftSpySE (this product) which is a superb program heading in the right direction. As we mentioned above, our tests showed XoftSpySE turned a slow, infected machine with annoying pop-ups ads and so forth, back to its original state when we first purchased the PC - speedy, responsive and without pop-ups...we highly recommend it to you.
